One guy travelled to live abroad in another country. Before he left, he entrusted his friend with the care of his family and his cat.
While abroad, he got a letter from his friend saying that his cat has died.
He got angry and wrote his friend the following letter:
This is not the right way to impart bad news! Bad news should be gently conveyed.
You should write in your first letter: “Friend, your cat is doing well. Sometimes, it goes and walks on the roof” and end the letter at that.
In a second letter, you would write: “One time, when the cat was walking on the roof, it fell down”, and end it at that.
In a 3rd letter, write something like: “When that cat fell down, it sustained injury. We took it to the hospital. We are taking good care of it. The doctor said that everything will be alright.”
A month later, you send a fourth letter, write something like: “The doctors tried all their best, and in spite of all their efforts and the prayers, the cat died.”
This is how you should release the bad news and not just: “Your cat is dead”
After he gave the advise, a month later, he got a letter back from his friend. The letter reads:
Dear friend, your mother is doing well, sometimes she’s falls sick.
