Sex is no accident…not in this day and age

sex-is-no-accidentI ran into this funny picture on the Internet.

It goes into great length to illustrate that “sex is no accident”.

It got me thinking about how the current generation have no respect for the sacred act of sex and just engage in sex for fun and self gratification.

Of course, one can expect that a man or a woman would say that sex is an accident after having a few drinks and acting on impulses. No wonder why the world’s ancient religious books argued against using intoxicants lest they rob you from your senses and make you “sin”.

Apart from sex due to being intoxicated and non-consensual sex (rape for instance), sex cannot be an accident. It is always an impulse to satisfy a need within us. One has to only look deep inside and be honest in order to figure out what kind of “hunger” one is satisfying by the shallow act of sex.

No one denies that sex is enjoyable and sex without consequences (casual sex) is even more enjoyable. But is that the “right” thing to do? Think again.

We live in an age where degeneracy is the norm. The main stream media, TV commercials, movies, etc. encourage us directly or indirectly (via subliminal messages) to act like animals: let our instincts rule over our greater sense of reasoning and empathy.

Men want to “score” as many women as they can and women want to prove that they are in demand and desirable by dressing provocatively to attract men and sleep with them.

After all this debacle, the one night stands or the hooking up are over, then problems start to arise and one party or both parties get bruised, resentful or even regretful. The relationship and trust between the sexes start to erode. New “movements” and “support groups” start to arise (such as: Feminism and the MRM or the PUA community and the MGTOW community).

The sexes are no more in harmony. You start to see all sorts of twisted gender role reversals and all those “studies” that say that genders are just a social construct rather than a biological one.

In the case of the classical “friends with benefits” (F.W.B) arrangement, if one party wants more sex and the other wants no more then one can expect retaliation.

After all, sex can be used as a powerful weapon of extortion and control. How many times have you seen a sexy lady (cladly dressed) trying to seduce and lure men? What about the gigolo and the womanizer?

Unfortunately, we live in an age of political correctness. If you speak the truth and name things as they are you will be called names (a misogynist, etc.).

False rape allegations for vengeance or smearing the reputation of others is a common thing now. It is like the boy who cried wolf.

Like in the water of madness story, if you try to lead a modest life then you may be considered old fashioned, idealist or a religious fanatic.

In conclusion, I think one should lead an honest life with the golden rule as the main motivation. Do not deceive others because at the end, karma will catch up with you. If it takes eternity to get what you want in life without ever resorting to taking shortcuts then so be it.

At the end, it is not the destination that matters, it is the journey, what you learn and what kind of a human being you become along the way.

Stay strong, respect yourself and let life offer you the next lesson when you are ready.

  1. I wouldn’t say we live in a degenerate time as much as we live in a changing era, mostly because of the influence of mass media and hyper-connectedness. Most religions, especially the Abrahamic religions, don’t so much talk of sexual mores as much as they recount them. The OT, for instance recounts literally hundreds of sexual acts that would be considered today completely unacceptable. Acts such as incest and polygamy and rape are common place. What’s more, they are recounted quite matter-of-factly and without implications of a moral imperative. They are even encouraged at times. The same can be said of the Koran and of the Torah.

I believe what is going on today is merely a great revealing of what is going on and has been going on. But by historical standards, sexual liberties are likely much more tame than in the past. One exception, however: men have ‘enjoyed’ these liberties much more in past times, and generally speaking, women were not to participate in promiscuity (not that they didn’t, it was just considered unacceptable as compared to men doing it). So now that women have become more or less equal in the game, it’s now considered degenerate. Displacement of mores from one sex to both sexes seems to be the case. But really, with information so readily available, so many live feeds and instant updates, it seems as though so much more is going on than before. In reality, it has merely been brought to our attention, and since that has happened, we can’t help but notice. As an example, we hear of all these murders and other heinous crimes on the news, so one would suspect that the U.S. and other developed nations are getting much worse day by day. Most of the data, however, suggest otherwise. The same is likely true of sexual activities (because after all, teen pregnancy rates have fallen significantly over the past two decades or so).

All this not to say I am in favor of unfettered sexual liberty, and yet I also can’t argue that a culture of sexual repression has led to any good concerning social outcomes. But no, I am not under the impression that sexual behavior is spiraling into degeneracy; most people do in fact practice self-restraint, it’s the ones who don’t that we hear about all over the interwebs. And that will always be. One must remember that perhaps the oldest of professions is that of prostitution. The demand for sex was clearly high back then as it is today; it just comes easier now and with less social stigma.

Yes, I agree “changing era”, but not towards a positive outcome for the society overall.

As far as I know these acts were condemned in the OT. In the eyes of God these acts where despicable. God finally burned Sodom and Gomorrah (for example).

Men has always done not but still that was never a good thing. Now both sexes do it: it is even worth.

In the Bhagavad Gita for instance, Krishna talks how free sexual activities do no do good to the society.
In essence, without the higher form of copulation, children may be brought into society and only to be raised by single mothers, abusive or ignorant parents and thus leading to bad influence in society.

“O Krsna! With Adharma, overcoming Dharma women get corrupted, and with women’s corruption, the entire Varna system (a complex system of occupations & communities, the social order) collapses”

This may have been the case before but not as much as it is today!

I remember back in 1995 during my adolescent years, the “short shorts” were non-existent for example.

The selfie/belfie and what not culture and the “Instagram models” trend were non-existent as well.

    >>All this not to say I am in favor of unfettered sexual liberty, and yet I also can’t argue that a culture of sexual repression has led to any good concerning social outcomes.

There is a difference between repression and wholesome sexual liberty. We are experiencing selfish and animal sexual drives exercised without any thought to the consequences.

Again I would like to think of single mothers, bastard children, abusive and ignorant parents, lack of education, etc. All these conditions do not help raise a child and therefore the uncontrolled sexual behavior will only lead to such corrupt and ignorant generation. I am not going to mention the STDs and what not.

All I want to say that sex should be exercised with responsibility, not only towards the children that you may bring to the world but to their contribution (on how you raise them) to the society.

    >>But no, I am not under the impression that sexual behavior is spiraling into degeneracy; most people do in fact practice self-restraint, it’s the ones who don’t that we hear about all over the interwebs. Prostitution will always be in demand and it is the oldest profession, but its demand does not make it a healthy thing for society. Even as old as prostitution was, I don’t recall any religious book saying anything positive about that.

Unlike you, I do feel that we are spiraling into degeneracy. Just compare the kids shows, the media, the movies, the fashion, etc. It was never like this in the known history of mankind.

Since when you would walk in a big city during a hot day and see women cladly dressed in short shorts with their ass cheeks hanging out?

Recently I was out in a city in a good weather and 90% of women apparently feel the heat more than men and they wear those ass cheeks short shorts, instead of modest shorts…They are free to wear whatever they want and I am not here to control what they wear, but this can lead to many problems, among them two subtle effects: men get de-synthesized and women become cheap.
